Demarest Hall?

I'm very interested in the spirit of Demarest Hall, but I'm wondering: do I need to be in the majors the special interest programs focus on to be there? Dumb question I know, but I'm genuinely curious.

Thanks!

“Demarest Hall is the only Rutgers dormitory completely dedicated to Special Interest Housing.”

I am guessing “no”.

Located on the College Avenue Campus, Demarest offers the largest number and most varied special interest sections. These sections, which were established in 1966, can change each year based on student interest and initiative. All Special Interest Sections have a mixture of first year students and upper class students. All Demarest residents are expected to contract into at least one of the nine special interest sections. Demarest sections for the 2013-2014 year include:

various topics listed

It doesn’t sound lik you have to be a major, just be interested in that topic.

Thanks! :)

There’s absolutely no major requirement to live in Demarest Hall. You can study any major.
