I just ran across this map on another thread that shows where students are from that attend a specific college: Where Does Your Freshman Class Come From? - Facts & Figures - The Chronicle of Higher Education

I'm now wondering if there is a map in reverse of this that would tell where students from your state end up? Has anyone seen anything like that?

I don’t think anyone tracks that, but you can find out where students in each state send their SAT and ACT scores, which gives you an idea of the most popular colleges in each state.

The reports on SAT scores by intended major have some interesting results.

For example, California students intending to major in psychology were noticeably weaker SAT takers than those majoring in other social sciences. Psychology intended majors had the weakest SAT scores of those intended majors normally seen as liberal arts (including science) majors.

The strongest SAT takers (in all three sections) were those intending to major in “Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies”. The weakest SAT takers for those intending to major in subjects normally offered at the bachelor’s degree level were those intending to major in “Public Administration and Social Services Professions”.

Most of the non-engineering pre-professional intended majors had relatively weaker SAT takers. Intended business and architecture majors were the strongest SAT takers of the non-engineering pre-professional majors, although they were still near the low end of the liberal arts majors in SAT scores (business intended majors did beat psychology intended majors, though).
