<p>Hi, I was wondering whether or not you are required to indicate your place of birth and your parents' place of birth on the common app. Is indicating a race/ethnicity enough, or will colleges penalize you for not reporting your place of birth? The situation is a little complicated for me, so I would prefer not to answer the question. Is there anything wrong with this? </p>
<p>Also, will the race reported on the "Demographics" section of the common app be sent to schools, or do colleges require you indicate your race in a separate part of the application process? </p>
