<p>The official demographic data, including majors, of the 31,747 undergraduate, professional and graduate students enrolled at UA in Fall Semester 2011 have been released.</p>

<p>Due to rounding, totals may exceed 100 percent.
• 63 percent come from Alabama
• 34 percent come from elsewhere in the United States
• 4 percent are international students from 77 countries
• 27 percent of undergraduates belong to sororities or fraternities
• 54 percent are women
• 13 percent are African-American
• 3 percent are Hispanic-American
• 2 percent are Asian-American</p>

<p>• 29 percent major in arts and sciences
• 21 percent major in business
• 9 percent major in communication
• 10 percent major in education
• 11 percent major in engineering
• 10 percent major in human environmental sciences
• 2 percent major in law
• 6 percent major in nursing
• 2 percent major in social work</p>

<p>I wish they would break this up by undergrads/grads. The instate number includes all students…including those in grad programs and the law school.</p>
