Hello everyone! I’ve been a lurker for a while but finally decided to make an account. I’ve run into a bit of a situation that I don’t know what to make of. The things is that I had no idea about demonstrated interest in college admissions until very recently. I’m a low-income student with a lot of extenuating circumstances that prevent me from visiting. That brings me to my situation. I live about fifteen to thirty minutes away from the Tufts campus but never visited because I didn’t know about how demonstrated interest can factor into decisions. Also is the fact that many colleges hold admitted student days. However, I did have an alumni interview where I think I did fairly well in. I’m asking for any insight on what to think of this situation. Will they hold it against me? Does the interview offset it?
I acknowledge that at this point it’s too late for anything and I’m not going to do anything like call the admissions office this late in the game. I just want some insight.
