Demonstrated interest - open house?

For a junior, do you think it matters whether you go to an open house or a regular visit? It’s unlikely it will be possible for me to attend an open house in the summer or during my senior fall.

Either is fine. Just be sure you sign in either time.

absolutely. schools track interest. a selection could come down to who showed interest and who didn’t. My S did pay a visit in the summer to Richmond - only chance we had, but also went to 1 or 2 meetings when Richmond was in town at a college fair, and did a Richmond alum interview. The more points of contact, the better, shows interest. But as @intparent said, make sure they know you attended. good luck. Richmond is definitely one of the schools my S is considering.

You can tell if a given school cares about interest from their Common Data Set (you can Google it).

@intparent Yes, I know they do factor it in, per the CDS. Thank you.
