Does USC care about demonstrated Interest?

I think they do. My daughter was recently admitted to Viterbi with the Dean’s Scholarship. Although her stats are high for the university and in the mid-range for Viterbi (all APs and honors throughout HS, 33 ACT with tons of activities and good essays), I think she was offered the scholarship because of how sure they were on her attending. She went to a visit at her highschool for USC, did the optional interview, went to our regional info session in Chicago, and visited campus twice. So, yes, it definitely helps but I’m not sure how much it’s weighted in the decision process.
