Demonstrated Interest?

Hey Guys!

I live in CA, and was wondering if going to the October 10/12 Campus Visit Days will boost my chances for ED admission. I know it says on the website that: “No, your completed application is all the demonstrated interest we need. We don’t track visits, communications, college fairs, or web events to enhance or detract from anyone’s application.” However, is it completely true?

Applying ED is the ultimate statement of interest. You are obligated to attend if accepted. Schools that watch for interest are mostly protecting their yield – trying to figure out if you will attend if they accept you.

I assume you have already visited once. No one should ED to a college they haven’t visited.

Thank you for the input, intparent. I have not yet visited the school. I have talked to several of my sister’s friends who have went there and love what they have to say. I have done my due diligence and know that I will love Dartmouth!

Having said that, does Dartmouth take into account that I visited their campus? I know that ED is an indicator of great interest but does a college visit further highlight my interest in attending Dartmouth, and slightly increase my chances of getting in?

No, they do not. No, it does not increase your chances of getting accepted.

Huge mistake to apply ED to a college you have not visited. Talking to people isn’t boots on the ground.
