Demonstrated Interest?

Does Johns Hopkins take note of demonstrated interest? I have found two conflicting answers online, if anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

According to the Hopkins common data set, Hopkins doesn’t take demonstrated interest into account for freshman admissions.
