I will most likely be applying to Bates RD but I haven’t visited campus and will request an alumni interview, but besides the mailing list, emailing Qs to admissions, and the interview, I don’t have much else.
Is there anything else I could do to make up the campus visit? I don’t know if Bates considers demonstrated interest to be a factor in admissions, but I assumed so with the “holistic” review.

I know that they care about demonstrated interest. You’re doing a fair amount to demonstrate interest (you can’t be penalized for not being able to get to Maine). Sometimes the school comes to college fairs near you where you get to meet the rep in person. That is the only other interest demonstrator I can think of.

Bates definitely considers interest and it says so on their CDS. Asking for an interview is the best way to show interest, apart from visiting. Spend time on their website and be sure to use specifics in the supplemental essay. One thing about Bates that stands out is its inclusivity. It is important to them. There is no Greek life, they really encourage first generation students, they are test-optional, and they court diversity as best they can at a small LAC in New England. Bates is big on community service and works hard to improve their relations with the townspeople of Lewiston. You can ask me any specific questions about Bates, as my D attends.
