Does anyone know if Brown keeps record of who visits the campus? I got waitlisted, and under the FAQ it said that it’s impossible to meet with an admissions officer so I need to find other ways to make sure brown knows i love them!!

Send them an email updating your accomplishments and remind them what you love about Brown. I did that before admissions came out in early March and I got admitted (I still can't believe it).

no tenchar

When i was there last summer they didn't record who visited. It was the only school I visited that didn't ask visitors to sign in.

Maybe they had secret cameras hidden in the trees. Watching you.

And on a serious note, congrats to juicy, I do hope you get in. Not to hijack this thread, (though, I suppose I am) but is there a way one can demonstrate interest in the application process?

I mean, I applied this year, and got rejected, and I felt this was one area I failed at. But is it possible for one to basically be writing I love brown on the essay?

dud, everybody who applies loves brown

demonstrated interest is not much if any part of the decisions process. so failing at that is not i think what hurt your application. (it's hard to know what does)

according to brown's cds it is part of the set of factors they look at

Demonstrated interest is considered in admissions decisions. So that means you have to demonstrate your interest to the admissions committee in some way that doesn't involve filling out a card before taking a tour.

I think how you write your essays can say a lot about your level of interest.

beyond the "why apply to brown" short answer, I don't know how that is expressed in a personal statement.

That's not entirely true, but I guess it is for the most part.

I love Brown more than them! =x (ok, maybe not, but I've got tonnes of Brown memorabilia!)

Sly: See, that's the problem, you can't always subtley mention brown in your essay. like say if you were recalling some significant event in your life?
