Demonstrated Interest

Hi!

What are some ways to show demonstrated interest in a college that really takes that into consideration? What if it's difficult to travel to that specific college?

One way would be to express your interest and knowledge of the school through it's "Why FirstChoiceU?" essay if the school has one.

What if I'm applying by the Common Application?

You need to e-mail /write to a prof at the school. Attend a regional information
session of theirs and make yourself known to the admissions officer who presents.
Also contact the admissions office for alumni in your area that you can speak with.

Most top schools do not have demonstrated interest as a criteria. Apparently
WUSTL (maybe Brown? .... unknown) did as of last year still.

Do colleges send reps to your school or to college fairs near your school? Usually they'll have you fill out a card and they'll record your info.

Yes, I went to a city meeting and wrote my name and information on the card. The reps don't come to my school though.

Is the meeting and applying for scholarships enough for "interest" in my circumstances?
