Demonstrated Interest

After I submitted college applications for the 1/15 deadline, I realized that I had not really given myself enough options. I began researching schools that fit my criteria that were still accepting applications, and Emory was basically the only one. However, as I began looking into Emory I became more and more interested in it. At this point it is definitely one of my top 2 schools. Unfortunately, I officially submitted my application for Emory on Friday.

My worry is that they will think I have no actual interest in the school. I would not be able to visit until after acceptances come out. Would scheduling a visit in April demonstrate interest? Is there any other way I can show I am truly interested in Emory?

I'm pretty sure the way they measure demonstrated interest is through the stuff you said you did on your application (visit campus, high school visit, college fair, etc.), so I doubt anything you did now would help too much. Also, your Why Emory? essay should show your interest.

Yeah, my Why Emory was good. Hopefully that will be convincing enough.

check your PM,

Thanks

Aaron 981,

There are a number of ways in which you can "demonstrate interest" in Emory.

While one certain way is doing an "official" visit (whereby you actually register with the Office of Admission), there is another easy way, which is to order a copy of the DVD.

Here's the link: Order Emory's Video Visit or DVD

Yes, it really is as easy as that to "demonstrate interest".
