Demonstrating interest

Top 50 Schools that advise demonstrating interest and track visits, e-mails, etc... can help in the admission process for some candidates.

Which schools would you include in this category?

Tufts? Rochester? NYU? Northwestern? Emory? Michigan? Any thoughts?

Of the privates, I think all but the most selective schools, - those with admit rates below 20% - do care a bit about demonstrated interest. After all, they want students who want to be there.
Large publics don't care at all.

I think that all schools care to some extent whether an applicant is really interested in their school, albeit some more than others. I've heard that demonstrated interest is fairly important at Emory --- they even have a question on their app asking what contact you've had with the university --- Tulane also does the same thing

Middlebury

definitely emory.
