Deneb Stars Program

Does anyone know how frequently the Deneb Stars in WashU meet? Also, is it possible to withdraw from the program if it’s not what I thought it would be?

Hi! I was part of the first class of Deneb last year, and this year I served on the leadership team. As it’s a new program going into its 3rd year, I think what I tell you will probably not hold true completely. However, it gets lots of funding so I think it’s going to keep improving (this year was a MASSIVE improvement)
But this year, all the freshmen meet once a month in these meetings that are intended to provide you information to help you succeed (the longer the school year goes on, the less these are helpful as you learn more through other means). However, you would be paired with mentors (sophomore/juniors) that meet with you once a week or every other week, and basically try to help you adjust to college and be a friend/resource for you throughout your freshman year.
Other than that, there is a suite dedicated to Deneb, with food and study spaces if you want. If you run into financial difficulties, there are funds for you and is probably a lot easier and faster to obtain than through the FA office (which is also a great resource, you just have to reach out early).
What do you think it’s going to be? I can answer more questions if you have them.

If anyone thought it was not worth their while and they wanted to withdraw from the program, would it be a big issue? Do you know? Thanks in advance
