Deneve-ers Represent!!

Who else is gonna be living in deneve next year?

raises hand

de neve triple

Yay for De Neve!

yupyup!!! triple as well.

Me too! (triple)

ckings86, what can you tell us about De Neve?

yet another deneve triple here...
an i'm an only kid who's never shared a room before.
man is this gonna be interesting! ;)

De Neve double!

Here too! Triple! =)

I keep hearing that De Neve is not really social =/ Let's make it social! =p

amen to that!!! w00000t

Emmeline, it depends on what you want to know about De Neve? Lol. As you know its a plaza which means private bath and A/C. Housekeeping (usually) comes once a week to clean the bathrooms. There's six separate De Neve buildings - Acacia, Birch, Cedar, Dogwood, Evergreen, and Fir. Acacia and Birch are attached to the main building (which includes front desk, mail room, and one of the dining halls.) My current floor is very social mainly because there's many first years living here, a decent number of social second years and our RA is adament about doing floor bonding activities.

Though I must say that living in a plaza is definitely a completely different experience compared to living in a res hall. I lived in Rieber last year and I absolutely loved it but, De Neve has its perks also (such as it being slightly closer to campus than a few of the other buildings.)

I also must add, don't fret too much about living in triples. It really isn't as terrible as you'd think. Most people that I know who live in triples get along fine with their room mates and have a blast definitely think of it as having two instant friends. (Which reminds me - Try to make friends with your room mate(s)! You'll be a lot happier with your living arrangement that way.) Anyway, if you have any specific questions about De Neve I'll be more than happy to answer them!

^What do you think?

ROTFL! That's funny. In some sense it's true. Though, I actually haven't had much problem with noise this year. Occasionally my neighbors have had loud music but they're generally considerate during quiet hours. Thankfully, we're good enough friends with one of our neighbors (we're at the end of the hall so there's only one room next to ours) and when their music does get a little too loud we just go over and ask for it to be turned down. We do sometimes talk back and forth between the walls in the bathrooms with one of the girls as a joke but its never been a big problem. However, one of the most annoying things that we can hear is the medicine cabinents (sp?) open and close - which is fine during the day but, if you're trying to sleep and the bathroom door is slightly open, you can hear the squeaks of the cabinent from the room next to you.

De Neve Triple here!

De Neve triple -- exactly what I requested, because I figured I had the best chance of getting exactly what I wanted. So...boo-yess!

And I bet the plaza's going to be just as social as we make it.

^Same with me. I remembered that at Welcome Day they said most people are going to be in triples so I just requested a triple in a plaza.

yeah, i requested a double, got a triple...dont care.

as long as i can be friends with my roomies, im cool with it.

WooWOOOWOO!!!! DeNeve triple here- I signed up with a friend, so I am really glad to be in a triple because it means I get to meet someone else too!!!

And it is going to be awex0me amazing, and as social as we want it to be. Good times.

ANOTHER deneve triple here. i wanted a double badly, but oh well, deneve is my first choice building. i agree that we should make it social!

DeNeve triple for me too! It was my first choice. Does anyone know how the size of the rooms are? Is it crowded having three people in there?

The rooms are about the same size of the dorm rooms in the res halls. You get much nicer closets though. I used to live in a triple there, it's still crowded.
