I agree with other people above. I heard that the reson that you appeal are like, problems with wrong information or recent awards that will make them change the decision.

So does that mean that my hardship which I described two posts above won’t work? Are appeals only for new awards/wrong information? :(

@panther123 unfortunately what you want to tell them is what waitlisted students must tell them within 200 words. In order to appeal, you have to present new information or correct a mistake on your application.

I plan to stress my interest on attending Davis only as a supporting point to the hardship that I mentioned above. And again, I didn’t mention the hardship in my original application so its new information. Does this change anything?

I think anything will help. If you show general want to go to the school I am sure they will re-look at it. I can totally relate to being a strict household and I think if you tell them that they will understand. I think the best thing is sincerely put everything you have at the table (life experiences and all) and hope for the best.
Rooting for you!

@panther123 You can always try, but know that the situation you were in at home is much like what many other students have been put through. I wouldn’t call your inability to have a social life due to your parents being strict an “extraordinary hardship.” You should try to appeal if you know for sure you want to do everything in your power to get into UCD. But be aware that your situation is nowhere near an extraordinary hardship and the admissions office might even think the reason for your appeal is slightly ridiculous you consider that to be an extraordinary hardship when others have gone through much worse. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors :).

@panther123 In you situation why not work on getting a better GPA through Community College and then transfering (and saving $$). The degree is the same no matter how you started working towards it!

I was also denied :’(
It was my top choice
I totally know how you feel :’( i had a 1760 sat and a 3.83 sat i cant stop crying cause i feel like if i cant get in there then there is no luck with other uc’s… and my personal statements were good… i know they were… i dont know why i was denied…
but im going to appeal alsoo

I’m thinking of appealing, since I got waitlisted at ucsb. But I don’t have special conditions. All I can say is that I am more qualified than other people at my school that were accepted, and I also improved my gpa first semester this year. Is that reason enough to appeal?
