Denied from Cal Poly Slo

<p>So I applied to SLO in November. My brother goes there now. I went on to my cal poly portal yesterday and saw that it said "You have not been selected for admission to Cal Poly." I was very surprised and kind of sad because I was thinking of going there, esp. if I got rejected from the UCs.</p>

<p>Here are my stats:</p>

<p>Weighted (10-12): 4.6 GPA
Total: 4.4 GPA
SAT: 1910
Major: Computer Engineering</p>

<p>Anyone else get denied just recently and was surprised? I looked at SLO as a solid choice because I loved it up there. Waiting to hear back from these other colleges I also applied to: UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, and UCI. What do you think my chances are there?
I'm thinking of sending an appeal to SLO, as well. Is this surprising to anyone else given my stats or is this common b/c Computer Engineering is a top major? or could this be linked to money issues b/c of our economy? Please help! And thanks very much!</p>

<p>I got into Computer Engineering with a 4.2 9-11 and a 1340/29 on the SAT/ACT. They do it by points, so you get a big bonus based on course selection. They also only consider CR and Math on the SAT at CP. </p>
