I agree with @madison85. That food estimate is low. Given that you won’t be working for a food establishment, and given that you’ll be purchasing most of your food items across the street, in what you can carry on that bike, you need more dollars for the food and water budget.

Well, I heard back from the school on my additional loan options. I can take out up to $5000 more if I need to.

So far I’ve paid for fall quarter without a meal plan ($2500 total) and I’m figuring out the details about which dining halls work with the meal plan, where they are on campus, and what hours they are open. There are 3 dining halls on campus that the meal plan applies too, two of which are near my housing. The hours for these dining halls will be what ultimately helps me decide if the unlimited meal plan is worth the cost.

I also plan on applying for a residential assistant job next year. It seems like a complete no brainer – I’m surprised I never thought about it before it was mentioned in this thread.
