I got denied to UMD today (I applied for engineering for fall 2015)
But do they allow reconsiderations? cuz i know for penn state main campus, u can call them and ask them if they can resoncider u as undecided. thanks
You can appeal, but only if you’re denied. Not if you were offered Spring. You just need to call and ask about the appeals process.
@terpgirl btw, do they consider GPA and classes more or ur sat.
but do you think i have a recent chance of getting in during the appealing process?

Unfortunately, I’m not good at “chancing” but I know you can appeal. Usually they look for new information or circumstances that weren’t already in your app.
Judging from the stats I’ve seen posted by those who did get accepted, it looks like your test scores and GPA are both low. Sorry. Major has nothing to do with UMD’s admission, you can be admitted without getting in to an LEP but major alone won’t get you denied admission.
aight thanks.
OP, the fact that they didn’t offer you Spring admit makes me think that your chances on appeal are very low. You can always prove yourself somewhere else and then try to transfer in.
@plumazul yea a lot of my friend who applied for the same major as me (but easier classes and lower GPA) got in. on paper they look good. but in RL(for example, they r the one who asks me for help on a lot of engineering project and physics stuff)… im not gonna bother to call them. got accepted to psu today so im set. thanks though.
You know PSU doesn’t give Fin Aid to out of stater right?
@foa006 no way where you hear that from?
@C1TonDoe “no way”? It’s an out of state school… what did you expect?
Check out some threads in the Penn State forum on CC from past years. You’ll see a lot of OOS students complaining about their financial aid packages - and a LOT of people say that Penn State gives out “lousy” financial aid.
