Dreams shattered!
good bye
I hate my life … i dont know where i will end up next year…

Go to the best school you get into and try to transfer if Penn is really that big of a deal to you.

What program was notified today?

I am nursing and health car management. nurising cant be that easy if i didnt get in.. :'(

sorry Pennhunter

wish you luck in your college search

if i am not good enough for penn chances are im not good enough for hopkins or georgetown. this sucks I hate my backup Saint louis U

don't say that. i know people who have gotten denied from wash u and cornell but into harvard
dont be so pessimistic
keep your hopes up
but not too much

so i guess im not supposed to hope too much becuase there isnt that much of a chance

I am sorry to notify you that after reviewing your application thoroughly, our selection committee is unable to offer you admission to the University of Pennsylvania's Class of 2011. All aspects of your application, the academic and the non-academic, were considered carefully and compared to those of the rest of the applicant pool.

Perhaps the most difficult and displeasing part of my job is writing similar letters to thousands of students like you, whose accomplishments are promising and exciting. I assure you that the selection committee gave your application every consideration, but, because of an unprecedented number of outstanding applicants we have to deny admission to a large majority of the remarkable students who seek admission to Penn. Most of our applicants are qualified to pursue successfully a program of study at Penn; however, only a relatively small percentage can be admitted.

We are pleased to have received your application to our University. I am sincerely sorry to disappoint you, yet trust that you will have other opportunities to attend another very good college. I wish you the best in the future.

Sincerely,

wait is st. louis univ diff from wash u

yep wash u didnt have a nursing school. does anyone think that i will get into hopkins or g town

wait, PennHunter....how were you notified so early? do nursing applicants' decisions get released earlier?

yeah, nursing kids find out earlier...they found out a few days I think. We don't find out till March 29 though :(

Good Luck man, maybe u can transfer, if not, I am sure u will still be successful wherever u go.

PennHunter, you'll be fine, man. I know some kids that have gotten into Georgetown. What are your stats? Also, did you receive the bad news online or by snailmail? Just wondering.

You'll feel way different about this the first time you supervise a Penn nursing grad!

I didn’t even know I was supposed to get the decision, I just had logged on because I was kind of bored. And then BAM! I was crushed.
Everything is good about my app accept my act which is a 28.
gpa 3.93 uw
4 aps this year.
class rank 12/353. I had great extra circulars but I guess that was not enough.

You just happened to logged on randomly on the exact day that they released the decisions? ....

Yep I log on periodically to see if anything new comes out. I was told that I would have received an email before the online decisions would have been updated.

Their gpas are lower than yours (3.75 to 3.8 uw), class ranks about same, and SATs (I guess) higher (720-750). Again, it probably boils down to what is more important to the Georgetown AC. Admissions decisions can often be random, so we unfortunately have to apply to more schools to stand a chance. gl.
