Thank you! Going to visit Clark and Wheaton in MA in a few weeks. He also really likes College of Wooster among others and still waiting to hear from Dickinson.

Congratulations on your acceptance.

My son got in with very generous merit.

Hey! I’ve been away for awhile. Has your daughter narrowed it down at all?

She’s in at Richmond. Also in at LMU, Santa Clara, Furman and Denver with merit. Waiting on eight RDs.

That’s great. I hope she gets into all of her remaining schools.
My son is in at Richmond also as you know. As well as Tulane, Northeastern, University of Florida and Case among others. Still waiting on some RDs—primarily Bates, Middlebury, Colgate, and Brandeis, but I think it’s Northeastern regardless.

My daughter got in with $24K merit, but since we are full pay that leaves $47,400 COA. Since she has better offers elsewhere, we will be declining and hopefully opening up a waitlist spot for someone else. Best wishes to all.

Exactly the same situation here! Mine will think about it through the weekend, but will likely decline. As much as we love Denison and Granville, it’s a large price jump from the other offers on the table.

My daughter got in (yay) but with 20k merit and loans it is still at 46k out of pockets (which is conveniently right at our EFC). She submitted a 33 ACT, visited, interviewed, completed Why Denison, and an arts supplement so I was hoping for more. Did anyone get more in merit so the bottom line after loans was LESS than their EFC?

Like her sister who was accepted 4 years ago its looking like Dennison is pricing itself out for our family. :frowning:

Same situation, my D21 was accepted with 20K merit (4.2W, 3.8UW, 29 ACT) but she has much better offers at comparable schools. Denison seems lovely but not at this price.

Try to negotiate. It never hurts to have your daughter call and tell them that it is one of her first choices and how much she loves it.

Congratulations to all the acceptances! My DD21 was denied. A little sad, but she was accepted at 9 other schools. This was a reach for her, so she is not crushed, but still disappointed.

Waitlisted (my first waitlist) and declined the offer. 32 act, 4.3 weighted gpa, why Denison supplement, great ec’s, pretty good essay. I think it’s because I didn’t interview or send the financial aid documents they kept asking for. Oh well!

International student accepted with 41k grant. Didn’t do the essay and interview.

@chiarts2017 Our bottom line if you include the loans as aid is about $2K over the EFC. But I’m not including the loans in my analysis - to me the bottom line is what we’re responsible for, and since the loans need to be paid back, we’re responsible for that as well. So the way I am calculating it, Denison came in $7K+ over our EFC. We’re going to think about it for a while (and aren’t ruling out asking for more if it ends up being the best choice by far), but the way it stands now, they’ve possibly priced themselves too high for us.

International here and i got in with a 44k financial aid (10k denison scholarship + 34k denison grant)

Congrats on all your acceptances !

S was waitlisted and also got the email saying he was a top candidate, but isn’t that just a form letter? Also, why do they provide a financial aid package if he’s waitlisted? Our package was very generous- we would have to pay about 16-17k . The balance consisted of scholarships and grants.

We are in a similar boat as several others. Our daughter was accepted to Denison with a very generous merit scholarship. It was awesome news and we are proud of her. However, even with merit package it is still the most expensive option by far. Nearly 50% more expensive than The College of Wooster, which we consider to be just as good of a school, and with an extremely supportive, friendly and inclusive environment.
