Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden

I would like to live in all of them. Norway seems physically splendid, Stockholm is gorgeous. Personally, I love Iceland, but I would happily live in Finland or Denmark.

I think, of those four, I'd go:

Denmark

Sweden

Norway

Finland

All the Norwegians I've met were very cold, but it's so breathtaking that perhaps I could overlook that. Copenhagen seems like such a fantastic city.

Who else wants to stay in the Swedish ice hotel?

(unregistered) "All the Norwegians I've met were very cold, but it's so breathtaking that perhaps I could overlook that."

By very cold, do you mean they weren't wearing enough to be warm? If you want to meet some warm, possibly hot Norwegians, go in the summertime...
I hope you werent implying that all Norwegians are unfriendly, because that would be a generalization and just not true, IMO.
But you are right about the breathtaking part.

I wasn't implying anything. I just stated that all the Norwegians I have met have been very cold (in the unfriendly sense). No, I don't think this is the case with all Norwegians, as I have only met a very small sample population, I know. I didn't make any generalizations about Norwegians as a whole, nor would I ever do so (I know better than that).

tusen takk

Defiantly Denmark! I would totally rock the Faroe Islands!

(Although technically they are a protectorate)

I'm a Norwegian myself, and I can tell you that generally Norwegians are know to be a bit reserved. I actually think it has something to do with the climate, because, if I use myself as an example, in the winter time when there's nothing but rain, rain, rain(no, not snow. I don't think there's been snow where I live for 5 years)- I get very moody and I'm not at all welcoming and I basically become more hostile. But then, when spring comes and the sun arrives with it, I just generally feel more happy. And when I walk home from school and the sun is shining, I catch myself smiling just out of pure happiness.

But really, if you get to know us, we're a friendly people :)

A friend of mine was there on study abroad and he said you are all a bunch of jerks. :P

camelia - fan va coolt! sjalv har jag bott i hanover - o_0 - for 12 ar nu men innan dess bodde jag i sverige
;)

oh and norwegians suck :-P

i havent gone to school in sweden since preschool, but from the day i spent in school visiting a friend in february i'd have to say school just isn't taken very seriously at all. math was cancelled for a hockey game, and there's much more freedom as far as choosing whether or not to even show up for class. much more of a school is what you choose to make of it deal...

2nd i'd put denmark for sure

no way in hell i'd ever go to finland
ever

oh and to answer OP's question, sweden's safe as can be, best public transportation ever (only problem i've had there is in the summer some of the busses from popular summer places to cities can be crazy full), and everybody speaks english.

What do you have against finland? It's actually quite nice -- though Sweden is a bit nicer imo.

sorry us swedes have a bit of a rivalry with finland, at least as far as rallying and stuff goes

why not finland tho? first of all the language is absolutely ridiculous
also it's dark and everybody is depressed, and the ones that arent escape to sweden

Denmark. My first online friend was from Denmark. He was hot. And they saved (nearly) all their Jews.

1.Denmark
2.Sweden
3.Finland
4.Norway

I'd have to go with Sweden. The women are just beautiful and the chocolate and forests are also nice =) Finland has a HIGH suicide rate, and I hear all there is in Norway is fishing (not my kind of thing). Denmark..bleh...reminds me of reading about the Holocaust (not trying to be offensive)

I say reserve your opinion until you've been there or looked into it heavily. Denmark is cool!

When I think about Denmark, I think about people smoking cigarettes and drinking cheap beer in airports at seven in the morning (whenever I am in transit on the way to Göteborg, that has been my observation).

edit: I obviously don't judge the entire country based on this, but I have to admit that it has influenced my perception. :p

That's like going to a bowling alley

No, because Copenhagen is the only airport where I've seen that (and I have traveled a fair amount). It's not a serious judgment of the Danish people or anything... I'm just saying that's my association, even if it is irrational. :)

that was a joke about cheap beer and cigarettes. maybe you should have went to Christiana

I'm obviously still burned out from my IB Math exam. My apologies.

The Finnish language is cool!

All Scandinavian countries have very dark winters and very light summers - and incredible Northern lights in the Winter.

I've seen many people downing copious amounts of beer in the AM in Germany, Ireland, and Belgium, as well...any country, really, that's known for its beer culture.

I read that apparently Sweden has the world's highest percentage of dyed blondes (Finland has the world's highest percentage of natural blondes). I found that interesting, but entirely irrelevant.

Edit: renix have you been to Christiana?
