i wasn't sure where to post this topic and this was the best place i could think of. if there's a dental school board i'd appreciate it if someone would point me in the right direction. anyways...

i was just wondering how competitive admission into dental schools were? i mean are dental school admissions separate from med school admissions or are they all just one big pile? how many years does it take to complete dental school? what colleges have dental schools?

these are just a few questions to start... i'll post more if any come to mind. :)

thanks

from what i heard, dental school admissions are much easier than medical school admissions.

ok thanks for your reply but i war really hoping for a more numbers oriented response... like I know there are only 125 med schools and acceptance into any one of them is a huge accomplishment, is it the same with dental schools? also do you know where i can find a list of acceptance rates at dental schools?

no one on here knows about dental school?

Unfortunately the ADA/ADEA/ADSA are not quite as forthcoming with applicant/matriculant data as the AAMC is from what I can find.

From my experience with my cousin, getting into dental school is a big accomplishment. There are only 56 Dental Schools in the US, and most of their entering classes are smaller than medical school entering classes are, so there is a number crunch...of course fewer people want to be dentists to begin with. I'd imagine that it's slightly easier to get in, but not by much...

do you have any knowledge of vet schools red?

i was always told that vet schools are significantly harder to get into , and the salary of a vet is a joke compared to an MD... but then again what do i know, im a college freshmen
