Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm very particular when it comes to choosing a dental provider - any good ones you've been to within the SHIP network? I'd love to get your feedback!

Thanks.

Thanks.

I go to the Optometrist at the Ashe Center, and it's worked out well so far. I've gone to a dentist at the Westwood Medical Plaza, but I forgot the name.

The dental at UCLA is great, but you might want to check to see if Dr. Kubota is on the plan. He's located in the 1900 block of Westwood Blvd., and takes most dental plans. He graduated from UCLA and despite the fact that he was kind of a military Scout Master for my son in Cub Scouts, he is the perfect dentist with a perfect bedside manner, and his sister is the dental hygienist (sp) (teeth cleaning!), who has a daughter who just graduated from Berkeley and another who's a freshman at UCSB.

I am really picky on dentists (they have to be good, and into it for the practice and not for the money, and easy on the mouth), and so is my husband (can't stand pain of any sort), so Scott Kubota is perfect, his office is in the building that houses the Princeton Review so really close to UCLA, and they are really easy on health/dental plan issues. He even does Sat. appts. at times. One of the most caring dentists I've ever had.

I had a great dentist who had to retire and unfortunately he sold his practice to this young punk who was your typical '80's money is the reason he became a dentist kind of guy. Well, I had someone like that on the National Health in England (where they get paid based on the size of the cavity, ugh) who killed one of my molars (in other words, made a lot of money off faking problems), so I know a fraud dentist when I see one.

Scott is absolutely not like that. I'm picky because the only "cavities" I've ever had are from these two jerks described above. I have great teeth and I want to keep them. My husband, on the other hand, has really crap teeth and is scared to death going to dentists, but LOVES going to Scott.

I saw the Optometrist Dr. Yeung a few weeks ago at the Ashe Center. Really nice lady, and I think she's the only optometrist there.

My D lost her contacts recently and could not get a sooner appt with Ashe. Went to Eyes of Westwood Optometry in Weyburn. Had a comprehensive exam and got her new contacts in 2 days.

Thanks so much for the info everyone! I scheduled an appt with Eyes of Westwood (since the Ashe optometrist is booked until late March) and I'm going to call Kubota's office next week! Thanks again!

I guess no one told you that if you want a same day appointment, you can log onto the system at 12:00 am to make it.
