Anyone else out there going for a Pre-Dentistry major? If so, which school do you plan on going to?

I've actually considered it. I'm guessing that like med school, there is no specific major that offers the best preparation. I'm actually planning on psychology while taking the required course because I definitely don't have enough interet in biology or chemistry to major in them. As for schools that offer pre-dentistry as an actual major and not just a concentration, I know NYU does, and i'm fairly sure washington university in st. louis does too. My first choice is brown, but I wouldn't hold my breath as far as getting in. If not, I'll look into cornell, tufts, and university of rochester, which all have good pre-med programs, which I'm hoping translates to good predentistry programs. None of this is set in stone though, i'm bound to change my mind...

Go to "any school" with a strong science program. It really doesn't matter. If you do well you will get into a good school. My husband graduated from a omg a state school, Rutgers College as a Bio. Sci. Major, 3.9 GPA Phi Betta Kappa and got into every school (9 of them) that he applied to including Columbia, NYU, Tufts, Emory Georgetown, yes they used to have Dental Schools and Penn where he graduated from. I hate to say it but study hard and save your money as an undergrad you will need it later on.

what should be my major if i wanted to be a dentist later on???

You can major in anything as long as you fulfill the requirements for entrance to the dental school that you are interested in. Check out the requirements on-line. I'm sure they didn't change very much. 1 year of Gen. Bio, 1 year of Gen. Chem. 1 year of Organic Chem. and Physics (all classes should have labs). You will also need to have classes to prepare you for the DATs (Dental Appitute Test). In other words you can major in history as long as you take the required courses. I would check out the science majors at the undergraduate school that you plan to attend and see what you like. If you major in a science make sure you select one that you like and would give you career options in case you change your mind or don't get in. I majored in Microbiology as an undergrad. I have a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology.
