Department Chair email question

So I'm applying to washington university and its one of my top choices. I really like the environment the school offers as well as its strength across the board. I'm really interested in physics, and I put it on my common app already. I recieved an email from the chair of the physics department telling me he saw i was interested in physics at washU so he explained to me some research happening there and asked me to email questions.

I'm not trying to jump to conclusions nor am I naive enough to put all my faith in this email, but is this any kind of sign of possible admission?

No, none whatsoever. They saw you’re interested in physics so they sent you an auto-email to make you even more interested.

It’s just a marketing thing – same with an alumni interview later in the process.
