Congrats!!
Did it come by mail? And did you have to apply for it?

just wondering what are your stats??

I found out via an email from the A James Clark School of Engineering yesterday.

My stats:
-1990 SATs (1320 CR+M)
-3.96 UW GPA, 4.6 W GPA
-7 APs
-Science Internship during senior year
-Accepted to Honor College

I wish the best of luck to all of you!! Can’t wait to be a Terp next year!!

Do any departments besides Engineering offer departmental scholarships to incoming freshmen? And has anybody received one so far?

Engineering is the main one that has offered substantial $$ to incoming freshmen in the past. Congrats to MdtoMD, I’m sure that your awesome GPA, AP’s and Science internship really caught their eye.

I’m surprised we haven’t heard from more people by now. In past years, there are usually several CC’er engineering incoming freshmen who hear at about the same time and post here.

I guess that means I didn’t get anything then. Congrats again thkugh MdtoMd!

Do you find out if you don’t get it?

Does Smith give them out?

Ahh I guess I didn’t get one then :(

Yodelo, on the UIUC CC you memntioned that you were visiting UIUC School of Engineering for their campus day. Would you care to share your impressions.

Dang - only one person got an engineering departmental scholarship? No one else? Really?
Congrats MdtoMd!

@peterW, I did make a post about my experience on the UIUC forum :)

None for us. Was hoping some more money would come in last minute so DD could afford to attend.

I just got the EES award so anyone who was worried apparently they’re staggered?

Congrats! That’s great to hear. I thought it was unusual to only have one CC’er with an Engineering scholarship this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you!

I also got the EES scholarship as well as the Women in Engineering scholarship, but I applied separately to both of them. I had a friend who received a regular departmental scholarship. 3,000 for 2 years.
