I'm bookbagging courses and have been looking for a certain Math 103 teacher, but I can't seem to find him. Instead, most 103 classes are taught by "Departmental Staff." Does anyone know what that even means?

Thanks.

Many of the intro math classes do not have fixed teachers, while there are a few who always seem to be teaching one or the other, in most cases there is a rotation of some sort I believe. As for departmental staff, I have taken all three of my math classes in those classes (Math 103, 107, 108) and out of those, one was a grad student (the best math teacher I’ve ever had at Duke), and two were visiting professors. Beyond that, the designation could also mean that they haven’t exactly found a prof yet and you’ll find out on the first day of class.

First, thanks for the quick reply.

The teachers I’ve heard so many great things about are the Hodels. Is there any reason why they’re not listed?

If they are not listed, then they likely aren’t teaching it next semester.
