DePaul or Loyola-Chicago

I am transferring from a large state school to either DePaul or Loyola-Chicago. I was accepted into both of the schools business programs and now I am just in the process of deciding which I’d like to attend. Which school is more respected in the Chicago area? Is one business school better than the other? Which school has the better nightlife and campus involvement? I like Lincoln Park more than Rogers Park, but I heard LUC campus was much nicer. Both schools business programs are in the city. Is one location better than another? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
From both Loyola and DePaul (both great schools) DePaul is mostly known having “connections” to Chicago for its business school. Though DePaul does have a medium sized campus rather than Loyola’s campus, Lincoln Park is known to be very wealthy area and active college area (great night life right next to Wrigley Feild). Also, idk if this is acutrate, but LUC is located in Evanston, and Evanston is mostly known for Northwestern not LUC. Finally I want to say something Loyola is really really known for its medical department I don’t hear much about it’s Buissness I only hear about DePaul’s buissness programs. (Both schools are great and there reputation noticed significantly in Chicago though one has better programs than the other I would say DePaul would have the better buissness program than LUC personally) hope you make a great decision!!!

Loyola sucks, go to DePaul (I kid, DePaul is my undergraduate alma mater). DePaul has way more visibility with its business and computer programs in downtown Chicago. Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better school, but the end result, which is getting more opportunities, is what counts.

BTW the main Loyola campus is in Chicago in Rogers Park, a good 3.5 miles south of Evanston.

At the end of the day, these are both similar regional universities. I would pick the cheaper option…NOT based on peripheral factors like nightlife.
