I'm thinking about attending Depaul, lincoln campus next semester but I'm worried about the social life. I've heard a lot of people leave on the weekends, and im worried it will be hard to make friends. I'll be living in a dorm and I'm just wondering if theres any type of community at depaul?

*sorry next year not semester.

as a person from the chicago area who has many friends that go to Depaul i would deff not give Depaul’s social life a good grade. A lot of people live at home (the burbs), which means they will for the most part stay home for the weekends. Even if you do stay on campus the nightlife in the city is VERY limited to someone under 21 (unless you have a REALLY good fake). Chicago is a great city but as a young student in an urban enviroment it can be very hard to establish real friendships or circle of friends if you dont already know people going to school with you. Depaul is without a doubt a commuter school so if you looking for the “classic college” feel and sense of community and pride, your not going to get it at depaul. But the school is in a great location for jobs and internships and has some good programs with a convienent campus, so its not all bad.

My friend’s son is in a dorm, has a great roommate, and is enjoying going off campus to take advantage of all that Chicago offers. He is really happy there.
