Depaul University

I was going to post this in the Depaul forum but it appears to be rarely checked. I have two questions:

How tough are their admission’s standards? I have a 3.0 GPA, 60 credit hours, and want to go for some kind of LAS degree.

How much would it cost to go there for two years, including use of a dorm for probably one year. I looked it up on a website and it said

“Comprehensive fee: $29,072 includes full-time tuition ($19,700), mandatory fees ($65), and room and board ($9307). Full-time tuition and fees vary according to program. Part-time tuition: $369 per quarter hour. Part-time tuition and fees vary according to program
Room and board: college room only: $6316. Room and board charges vary according to board plan, housing facility, and location.”

Is it $30,000 for one semester or one year? Paying $240,000 for a four year degree seems a little much but then again, i know nothing about the private universities.

Depaul's admissions are not very tough. In fact, I don't think that their transfer admissions policy is hard at all (I applied in June of last year and got in July. I opted for a semester off than go there, but that is not important). Not knowing your board scores, I am betting that you will get in.

Also, Depaul is on the quarter system, and the $30,000 is for the full year.

Yes, the $30K is for one year. This is less than your typical elite private school where the tuition, fees, and room & board is usually close to $45K per year.

If you qualify for need-based financial aid, it can sometimes be cheaper to attend a private school than a public one.
