I recently applied for a spot in the DePaul University class of 2022. Has anyone heard back yet and if so how long did it take?
I applied on Sept 13 and have not yet heard.
I heard back and got accepted!! So excited!
me too
What school did you get into?
School of Education
My S just heard back today accepted and placed in the Pathways Honors Program for Pre-Med.
I heard back and I got in! It didn’t take long, and I applied for the college for Education as well!
My daughter received her admission package today. She got the President scholarship!
Three of my friends applied there in the beginning of November and heard back in less than two weeks. I applied a week ago, but the college board has not said that DePaul received my SAT scores, so that is also a factor that may be why other people get decisions earlier -because of requirements(sat scores & transcripts) that are still being processed.
Well my son hasn’t heard from DePaul regarding an admissions decision but he did get a birthday card from DePaul today.
If they send out birthday cards and then don’t accept, it’ll be interesting.
Got my online acceptance today, applied late October.
Our son applied just prior to November 15th, and still hasn’t heard back. We are getting concerned.
@cagphd How much is the president scholarship? Apparently there was a range of scholarships and I’m trying to figure out how “prestigious” the one I got was. Sorry if it’s a too personal question. (I got the St. Vincent depaul which was $15,000 I believe). Congratulations to your daughter
@FenderJazz72 the DePaul site says EA will notified by January 15th so there is still another week and a half they could reply by. My guess is with the holidays there would have been a little interruption in replies, also there may have been a lot of applications that came in just prior to 11/15. My daughter heard back the last week of November but she applied before 11/1 I believe. @cooledwhip I believe on their site it says freshmen scholarships range $13K-$23K. Every merit scholarship is prestigious in my book! Congratulations!!
@FenderJazz72 We were at a visit session on Jan 3rd. The admissions counselor noted that she had to get back to her desk after the presentation to continue to work on applications. If he applied on Nov 15th, I would imagine he is the “to do” pile!!!
@cooledwhip Congrats on the scholarship!!! You should be very proud of receiving this award!!! $15K will certainly knock down the tuition. My daughter received $23K merit and $12K Schmitt leadership.
I received a $22,000 scholarship, do you know if this is purely merit based and I’ll be able to receive need based aid? Also congrats to your daughter on the Schmitt scholarship! that’s incredibly hard to get!
Hi @nicchata2018! First … AWESOME JOB on the scholarship!!
The need based awards, from my understanding, are going to be released starting at the end of this month. If after merit you still have need, I believe DePaul will work to help you. You should call your admissions counselor to verify.
Wow! I applied Jan 1 and heard on Jan 15 that I got in and have a 93K scholarship. Have some questions now. Does anyone know how each student is assigned to a campus? Also, what is the situation with dorms? Are they nice? How many students in each? Trying to find what graduate schools students from depaul get into as well. Thanks everyone.
My son is a freshman at DePaul. You don’t get “assigned to a campus”. Students take classes on both campuses and ride the El between (pass is part of student fees). It depends on your major where you have more classes. My son is a Graphic Design major in CDM - which is housed on the Loop campus. He currently has classes in Lincoln Park on M/W and classes on the Loop T/Th. (most students don’t have any classes on Fridays). As far as dorms, I suggest you check out the DePaul housing webpage. There are good descriptions and pictures of the dorms. There are a variety. Some are traditional (shared hall bath) and some are suites. Some are larger and some are smaller. Son is in Seton Hall - which is a very nice traditional dorm above the bookstore. His room has the largest walking closet I’ve ever seen. At the beginning of the year, some rooms had “extra” students in them (doubles made into triples etc) because demand is generally greater than supply. He is in a triple but the room is plenty big enough for 3.
Can’t answer the grad school question. Good luck with your decision.
