Greetings. I have a friend who is currently attending Northeastern Illinois University in the College of Business and Management, and is inquiring over whether or not he should invest in transferring to DePaul.
DePaul has a reputation for being on the “pricier” side of college. For him, he’s wary of the financial burden that comes with attending DePaul. Currently, he’s comfortable and situated with Northeastern, but he’s unsure as to whether or not he should take the opportunity to transfer.
Is there a significant benefit that comes from attending DePaul over Northeastern Illinois for Undergrad in Business? Thank you.
How much more would DePaul be? Would that difference be covered with work earning/parent income, or with loans? Is this a hypothetical or is your friend admitted to depaul?
An estimated 30k more, being generous. He has been admitted, and hopes to do work study with financial aid and parental support.
30K more to pay before or financial aid has been deducted, or based on the difference in sticker price? Or is Northeastern Illinois University free, and 30K would be total costs at DePaul hence the work study+FA+Parental support?
What are the job prospects for NIU with a business major?
If the financial burden is too much for your friend to bear per year, I recommend he stay where he is. If the parental support is limited, work study won’t do much either to budge the bill.
