Does anyone have experience with the DePauw University School of Music? Especially with the cello teacher there?

I have two friends who go there, but not for cello. They are piano and horn.

DePauw’s music school has a very loving environment–it is like one big family. I participated in a summer camp there this summer and got to work with various professors, including the cello professor. His name is escaping me at the moment, but he was SO awesome. He taught my musical improve class, and I learned a ton. He’s a super nice guy.

D is a first year at DePauw School of Music; she was one of 53 freshmen in the SOM. So the SOM is a fairly small. tight-knit community. Great faculty-student ratio in the SOM. Excellent facilities. Very good series of visiting artists. So far, so good. D is doing Music Ed and is a clarinetist, so no advice about cello.
The cello teacher’s name is Eric Edberg. A few poster’s on cello chat recommended him. I’d email the teacher if you are interested. Their audition requirements are different for scholarship money, so I’d make a decision soon to prepare the repetoire.
Just a note-- in general it’s not wise to mention teachers (or anyone else) by name on this forum because it’s so easily searchable. PM (private message) is a better way to handle such queries.
ok. I just assumed it was public knowledge who the teachers were at each school. Nothing bad was said. I just said who it was.
This is a good piece of advice. I never thought about that.
