Dependent Verification - Uncooperative Parent

I am 22 and have been a student at my school for going on my 5th and final year, I have two majors and was randomly selected for Dependent Verification.

I filled out my FASFA as usual by April and even this alone was like pulling teeth. My mom provided me with her 2011 Tax Return from her accountant and I filled out my FASFA like any other year.

I received notice that I had randomly been selected for this verification and have been attempting to get it together for a few weeks. One requirement for my case is that I provide tax transcripts for both my mom and myself. My transcript, as I did my own taxes, came in the mail last week and I had asked my mom when she was expecting hers. My mom gave me her information, told me she did not order hers yet, and asked me to do it for her. After much digging I discovered that although we have my mom's physical 2011 return she still did not file it so no transcript is available or will be until she does.

I told my mom what I had discovered and asked her when she was planning on filing. She was very defensive as she has been through this whole process and essentially told me it was none of my business and that she is very busy with work and filed for an extension until October. I am shocked that I have not known this information until now and still have no way of verifying any of the information that is required to be provided by a parent.

I have looked into dependency override for a few years now as my relationship with both my parents has always been very unreliable. I do not have an abusive home, both parents institutionalized, or really any of the other stipulations. The only thing I can offer is that my mother is an alcoholic, and my father is working with her to come to terms with that and my father is a recovering alcoholic, just out of rehab in April.

I would use my father's taxes, as this has come up, but he too had filed for an extension as he was in rehab before and after taxes were due.

Is there any other way anyone knows how to opt out of dependent verification. As this is beyond FASFA I cannot change my filing status for my taxes and I just don't know where to go from here as if I correct my FASFA now it will change my priority status for receiving aid.

Please any help would be appreciated.
