Deposit fee?

i submitted my SIR and SLR for UCSD. I expected to pay my deposit fee right away but there was no notice or payment due on myapplication.

Shouldn't i be required to pay for deposit?
or
is there waiver system even for deposit fee for low income students or EOP students?

You didn’t have to pay the SIR fee because your financial aid waived the fee.

really? because i have financial aid but i still had to pay 100$ deposit for SIR

i didn’t have to pay a deposit either! phew i’m not the only one… i thought that that was some glitch or something D:

I believe you only get it waived if you have like an EFC of 0 because you are in a greater need.

what does EFC stand for?

After you fill out your FAFSA , you should receive an estimated family contribution (EFC) number.

wait… but i don’t think my EFC was 0…

As long as your EFC was low, your deposit fee got waived. If it didn’t ask you for a deposit fee, you’re fine.

Dang, my EFC was 100, so I had to pay the deposit.

my EFC was 272…is that low enough to not pay the deposit fee?
