Deposit For Sir

I called the registrar office and ask about the EOP, and she told me that on the deposit form I can just put that I’m EOP approved meaning that I qualify for the fee waiver , so technically I don’t have to pay for $100. Anyone is having the same problem as I am. What did you ?
How long is it going to take by mail ?

how do you know if you are EOP. Was that the thing I checked on the UC application? I don't know if i got it, but what i do know is that i get free waivers for everything. So how would i know if i am EOP approved?.. thanks

what is EOP ?

The only way you can get the deposit fee waived is if you got your UC application waived as well.

Are you freakin' serious? I had no idea the deposit for our SIR could be waived. Boo...and I already paid. :[

well you still have to pay it, it's just deferred till later. (I'm pretty sure?)

Luix43, when I filled out the UC application, I did not know what EOP was so I did not check the box. So do you think I can still apply now?.
I believe to be qualified for EOP your parents must make really low income like under $20,000 per year!!!!

Hmm, I think you had to apply for it on the UC application. I don't think checking the box qualified you for the free waiver, but the income you put on the application does. What I know about the EOP, if you qualify, you can take classes at UCSD during the summer for credit. It's like a freshman program that allows us to adapt to the UC system easier than if we just show up in september. The class is, i think, a writing class, but i'm not sure if you can change it or anything. And hmmm, sometimes financial aid pays for the whole program so you don't have to pay a dime. That's all I know, i havn't got any information about it.

how do you know if you are accepted as EOP. I don't think they say it on their website even though Davis says so on theirs. I got four of the UC fees waived...and my family income is less than $20,000 a year. Do you guys think I got EOP?

Another thing i forgot to mention is that they pick people who they want in the program. A way to influence their decision was that you could of wrote about your financial problems and why you should be admitted in the EOP for one of your essay in the UC application. So having an income less than $20,000 doesn't automatically put you in the program.

I don't think SD posted it on their website. If you already submitted you SIR they might send info later on in may. But if you want to find out i'm guessing you could just call them to see if you are part of the program. That would be your best bet.
