Deposits and dorm preferences

<p>I haven't seen this in any recent threads, but in past years RPI has given housing preferences in order that the deposit was received to hold your place in the enrolling class. ED1 and ED2 are obviously first in line. </p>

<p>You'll get a survey in month or two asking housing preferences and habits. Then those are run through the system and assigned.</p>

<p>Some say it doesn't make too much difference, but I think it helps to be sooner vs later.</p>

<p>Our preference was Barton dorm for freshman year because newer, study rooms, AC, etc. But you have to be willing to live in a triple to live there. Athletes often live up by the sports complex in BARH.</p>

<p>They’ve actually released all the housing forms and pretty much everything you need between now and orientation week(s). Check the enrollment guide once you login to the RPI site and you’ll find all the forms they’ve released.</p>

<p>They also confirmed that they process the housing forms based on when you paid your deposit, so that may put a few minds at ease. They advise you get them in sooner than later though.</p>
