If you accept a full ride scholarship at a school, do you still have to pay the deposit? Theoretically, shouldn't the scholarship cover the deposit as long as you send in the form accepting the scholarship. If not, do colleges give you some time after the May 1st deadline to come up with the deposit just as long as you send in the reply card?

no you don't have to pay the deposit. Just send in the reply form and if it doesn't register online that you've paid the deposit, call admissions so they can correct it for you.

Call the admissions office. Only they will be able to tell you definitively. Sometimes a school may "credit" your account and give you the deposit back, or use it as a security deposit against damage to your dorm room, or for some other miscellaneous charges not covered by your scholarship.

ok, thanks.

According to UMiami- you have to pay the tuition deposit and they will apply it to room and board for spring term (singerscholars)

I didn't receive the singerscholars, I received the Hammond. I already talked to admissions office and they waived it automatically when I sent in the intent to enroll.
