Depressed about the SAT?

Or am I just the only person who is like that? Ever since I've been prepping my whole attitute I guess just went DOWN. Like I used to always be excited, now I'm just think about that low PSAT/SAT score.

Seriously! I can't STOP because I'll be worried. But I can't keep this sad-personality going? Any advice?

Stop thinking about it…?

lol. I was actually asking if anyone else felt this way too D:…

Or maybe I’m just a freak ;)

I totally feel this way  Other than my SAT, everything else looks beautiful. >_< But I try to use my time begin sad to push me to study harder instead of sulking about it ^^

The key is to get pumped for standardized tests. Go in with clenched fists, cheering, and high five the strangers next to you. I attribute my 5 on AP Chem to this attitude.

I realize that advice isn’t about prepping, but it makes prepping unnecessary.

SATs arent THAT important. This is true with public universities. An ok score like around 2100 is good, but beyond that its just a small bonus.

lol I don’t even have a score of 2100. If I did… I wouldn’t be depressed XD

I have a 1850 score since the start of june. I’ve b een prepping almost non-stop for 2 months. No change AT ALL.

take the ACT? :P

I have never cracked open an ACT book and I doubt I can get a 34+ by the end of this month…

So I’m counting on SAT… No time anymore!

@Jetson What is the ACT equivalent to a 2100?

To the OP: Taking it the first time is always the hardest. Once you get a baseline score, you know your strengths and weaknesses, and there’s less immediate stress going into the second try.

My take on it is the less you care and worry about it, the better you will do. I’m 3rd in my class of over 500 because of this mindset. When you aren’t all stressed about everything it’s easier to do well (for me at least).
I don’t have time to stress over the SAT so I don’t. Whatever happens, will happen. I’ll study closer to my PSAT since I’m a junior but now I have other things to do that are more important

@Wiscongene: approximately a 32.

I’d definitely recommend the ACT for you Dorkyelmo. Seems to be a better match for you.

You saw my previous thread about me being depressed about the SAT right?

You’re not alone ;)

Also, you’re going to be a Sophomore, you dont need a 34 ACT by next month! You have a year to prepare!

Oh… wait. You’re a sophomore? Definitely take the ACT then. You have plenty of time.

lol well when I brought all these prep book for the SAT… I really don’t wanna change.

And I took a practice ACT. I got a 25.

So YEAH fudge my life :(

1800’s is good for a freshmen. Remember you got above average as a freshmen, for what SENIORS get. You have 1 whole year to study till the NMSQT comes, and ofcourse 2 years till the real SAT’s. Don’t stress it.

PSAT this sophomore year ^^ For my friends (and cousins) we are all competing (winner gets a life-time supply of pocky  -__-‘’)

So It’s kinda tough especially living in NY when the PSAT semi cutoff is 218… Or actually 220 ish D:

Move to Oklahoma! The cutoff here is ~206. YAY.

How many books have you read this summer?
