desperate advice needed on transferring to CORNELL! :[

Hoping to transfer to Cornell from CUNY Honors College @ Hunter College, and I want to choose a major/college that would be easier to get into as a transfer ..Which is easier, CAS Biological Sciences vs. CAL Biological Sciences vs. Human Ecology's Biology, Society and Health???

I had all A's in my class, except for this poli sci class (a "C") that I chose voluntarily, in hope to expand and "venture" out to other interests, costing me a gpa of about 3.5..i'm afraid that this isn't good enough for Cornell. Currently I am a member in the neurology club (attends med school lectures in city, shadow doctors), pre-med society, CUNY Honors College Community Service Committee, Pilates and Brazilian Copeira Club. I'm currently attaining a volunteering position at Cornell Medical Center.

HS standings: had avg of ~93-94 (out of 100), SAT 1400 (M800/V600), SAT II Chem 700, Bio 680, writing 620. Tons of xtracurric including student govt, National Honor Society, NYU Downtown Hosp. volunteering, National BETA Club and community service at soup kitchens, nursery homes etc.

Also..how is the financial aid for transfers in COrnell? financial aid wise, would less aid be given to me for biological sciences in CAS vs. CAL, because CAS is private and CAL is SUNY college? Or would it be proportional where I would have to pay the same amount, but I'll be given more aid in CAS because the tuition is higher and there is more to financially cover?

...advice is much appreciated about which major/college to pick guys!

how come you never took a math SAT II if you got an 800m SAT I ??

CAL is much easier to get into, you should apply there IMO.

oh sorry, SAT II Math IC 700..

and what is IMO? (sry i sound like a newb)

Oh really? CAL? I've heard that for ny residents CAL biological sciences is harder to get into than CAS biological sciences, because its a popular major and all the smarter NY state students choose CAL over CAS because of the tuition difference..I was wondering if its the same for transfers.

What you guys think of HE (biology, health and society) in aspects of selectivity/interest?

Also, chances of getting in? I'm a biochem major/english minor. current gpa ~3.5 consists of all A's (4.0 in sciences) but i screwed up, got stuck with a *****y professor and got a C in int'l relations, a class that i randomly selected..guess this is what I get for "venturing" off and exploring other interests as a premed student :[

IMO : In My Opinion

Your transfer chances to Cornell looks very possible, but try to boost the GPA this semester.

I think Human Ecology is easier to transfer into than CALS. CALS transfer acceptances are inflated because of a higher number of guaranteed transfer agreements and articulation agreements than human ecology. Probably Human Ecology is easier to get into.
