Desperate for advice

I was recently waitlisted at SDSU, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and rejected by UC San Diego.

I am really confused because I thought there schools were my "safeties." All the other schools, UCSB, UCI, USC, U MICH, Wake Forest are all reaches.

SAT: 2200 (1 try)
SAT II: 780 World, 750 Bio, 680 Lit
GPA: 3.5 UW, 4.0 W (i think this is the problem)
AP: Gov (5), World (5), Calc AB (5), Lang (5), Art History (5), Biology (4)
Currently in AP Lit, AP Euro, AP Psych, AP Environmental Science, AP Economy, Calculus III (4.0 GPA senior year)

EC: mock trial captain, hospital volunteer, chinese school SGA, art club, painting awards, etc. nothing special.

Lost a parent in before 9th grade so freshman year was really bad, moved schools in 11th grade and junior year was hard.

What should i do??!

hi! i’m currently a senior and waiting for college responses too. I’m not an expert or anything, but you should probably consider appealing to these colleges and explaining your situation. I remember my counselor saying that if you really want to go to a specific school but got waitlisted, writing them a letter that expresses your interest in the school can’t hurt. good luck with everything :)

Appeal!! Appeal! Can’t say it enough—> UCs accept appeals. Especially to your 1st choices for these schools

Stonesn what would I do for the appeal? and how?

Should I send the UC’s my first semester class grades (all A’s 4.0) and my current grades (all A’s 4.0 as well in all AP classes). Do these count?

Would getting teacher recomendations help as well?

Ugh I am really nervous that I will not go anywhere!!!
