Desperate for Help

Hello, I am from Philly and I am a Freshman at Penn State Univeristy in State College. I really don't want to stay there for Fall 2006.It was a very difficult 1st smester. I had very horrible rooming experiences. I always thought I did well in high school and was told throughout my life how smart I was and how far I'd go. Much like many of you. I went to an urban school in Philly and most of the top students got into UPENN. I wasn't so lucky that year they only accepted 6 when they normally grab around 12-15. Well, I am finished with my first semester and I ended up with a 3.33 GPA. I want a school that is focused on academics and smaller. I want a more rounded education and I want to meet students from all over the country. I also need to be near a city. I feel with my stats though I can't get in any where. Last year I had a pile of waitinglists and rejections. Waitlisted from BC, BU, and Lehigh and rejected from Penn and Brown after being deferred early decision. I have a 1210 SAT score and was 20th in my class of 700. Our schools highest SAT score was a 1390. I was active in high school and made the Daily Collegian Newspaper at Penn State as a freshman. I'm the only one in my family to go to college and it's hard to be somewhere your unhappy. I wanted to go to Upenn for a while now, but I don't think I'll get in as a transfer. I have been so tempted to give up this dream to be admitted into a smaller top academic school. I have been looking into Villanova, Lafayette, BC, and possibly UPENN or Brown again. I have called and emailed each school several times so far for information. I know second semester will be better academically and Upenn's major of Philosophy, Political Science and Economics sounds ideal for me. I just need to know, am I setting myself up again?

b u m p :D

sorry, but a 3.3 from Penn State isn't going to do it. I got much higher at a much more difficult and respected school.

Hey lucky i was in exactly ur position. I went to wilkes which is alot smaller then psu but anyway i got a 3.33 my first semester and wanted to transfer to lehigh, bucknell, lafayette, and nova. Well i got a 3.8 my second semester at wilkes and started applying to other colleges. Well i got in only at nova. Which was weird cause i didnt even send them my second semester grades and my high school grades were descent. So what im tryin to say is i would put money on you getting into nova. but lafayette is a reach. And ivies are kinda outtathe question it sounds like.
