Desperate Need of ACT Help

Hello all, it’s crunch time now for the Dec. 10th National ACT test date.

Here’s my problem:

I took the ACT in my junior year (I am in an online school, and we took the ACT online-- which was terrible.)

I scored a 21 overall.

English 22.
Math 16.
Reading 26.
Science 18.
Writing 16.

I need to get at LEAST a 32 to attend the schools I want to attend. (i.e , Harvard)
I did not study for the last one just because I wanted to see how well I would do.
I am not a good test taker, which was part of why I joined an online school where I did not have to worry about them.

My GPA (weighted) is about a 4.6.
My school offers Honors as the highest I can take.

I am involved heavily in 4-H and filming. I’ve managed to get a State award, a National trip award, and the opportunity to witness the 2017 Presidential Inauguration in person.

So, anyways, I guess my question is:
How can I apply myself to increase my score higher than 10 points by then?

I’ve bought an ACT watch, bought two ACT help books (not really workbooks), and signed up for the ACT’s Online Prep. I can’t afford a tutor.

I try to work on something every day, but a schedule is also a struggle for me.

I truly believe I have a chance to attend where I want, but I feel like my ACT score kills any chance I have.

I don’t want to try to study for the SAT because my school required everyone to take the ACT, so I’d rather not take another test that I’m not used to.

Thanks in advance.
I am extremely nervous about all this college application process!

Just because you believe you can get 32, does not mean that you can…(for December)… I am sorry to be honest …google C R A C T and download some past tests, try to time youself when you practice them…you need to do some serious prep… 16 in Math shows a serious gap, it meant you did not have 50% correct. you have to decide the priority of your work

Honestly, getting a 10 point increase this close to your test date is very very unlikely. Get the book of practice tests that is sold by the ACT company. Take those (stagger them though-do not take them one right after the other). For every test, do more than read the answer explanation on the ones you miss. Figure out how to solve every single problem, even if you got it right. Keep track of all of this in a notebook. Read the notebook once a week. I made flashcards for the math formulas that I felt I needed (based on what was in my notebook), but you might want to do that if you do not understand some general rules in the Science or English portion (reading, too, I guess? Idk how you would make flashcards for reading, but if you figure out a way, go for it). Memorize all of the basic rules that you can so you don’t have to worry about them during the test - you will only have to worry about the test-specific material.

***know your trig for the math section, and obviously the most algebra possible for you. and basic geometry.

You are the perfect candidate to apply to test optional schools - great GPA but your ACT score is not good. There are some threads here on CC re test optional schools which you will want to research asap. Good luck.
