I REALLY need a 30 or I don't get a vehicle from parents :(

E: 32
M: 27
R: 28
S: 24
C: 28

Anyone have a suggestion on what subject I should focus on when studying for the next act?
I heard the science was just concentration and luck so how could i study for that lol?

Looks like math would be the best material to actually study and I would advise doing that. If I saw your subscores I could tell you particularly where your math problem lies. But as for science, it needs work and the way to do that is simply to take many many practice tests and become more and more used to the types of questions asked and you’ll gradually obtain the ability to answer some questions just based on type. My advice is not to bog yourself down by reading unnecessary information. Read the questions and then find the info in the tables/graphs/etc. (except in conflicting viewpoints, definitely read that.) I hope this was helpful.

thanks for the advice! my math subscores were…

Pre-Algebra/Elem. Algebra = 16
Algebra/Coord. Geometry = 14
Plane Geometry/Trig. = 13

well, it seems you understand the basics then. Just look over more advanced things in general, those two last subscores were more the problem. (Of course I’m sure that’s obvious to you ^^)

To get a 30, the total of all 4 of your scores has to be 118. You’re at 111 right now. If you can improve your science, that can really help. Also it’s pretty easy to raise in math I think. You seem good enough at english and reading

i have PR’s cracking the act… Should i buy another book?

in my opinion, at bare minimum, everyone needs the red book. get it.

I agree, the red book is awesome. I prepped on my english and reading the most because it seemed the two sections I could control the most. I would just brush up on math skills and really practice reading the science section quickly.

I would also advise getting the red book. The answer explanations in it are unmatched, and of course, the fact that they are former ACT tests certainly can’t hurt you. ^^

yeah I’m definitely going to buy the red book… the next test is June 13… Anyone know how much i should study to go from 28 to 30? Maybe 30 min. a day?

30min a day doesn’t do anything… Take 1 test at a time. Go over what was wrong the next day. You don’t have to do it every day, but do it a full test at a time.

Aight thanks for advice. Hmm i wonder if it would be just as effective to do one section of the test a day
