Desperate UCSD Thread

Hello everyone, so my current situation is as follows:
I was accepted into UCSD as an Undeclared major from the waitlist. My goal is to earn a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, so at UCSD, I would have to take the screening courses and and try to switch in after the first two years. However, recently I’ve started to panic because I’m hearing how competitive it is at UCSD and how hard it is to switch into an impacted Engineering major. Does anyone have any information on how hard it actually is to switch in to Electrical Engineering? Is it as competitive as with Computer Science, for example? I was accepted at Poly Pomona for E.E but I didn’t SIR there because I thought i would be fine with UCSD, but now I’m completely unsure. I have not withdrawn my SIR at San Jose State either because that was my safety school and I was accepted directly E.E there as well.

What should I do? I really need some new advice and at this point I’ll appreciate any input. Thanks.

There are a couple of threads on the UCSD sub forum under Colleges and Universities that address this situation. As far as I can determine from the posted. Information, to transfer into EE or CS, it will all be based on your GPA from the required classes and dependent upon how many spots are open. If you are willing to take the chance you may not get into EE at UCSD but love the school, go for it. If it’s EE or nothing, go with the sure thing at SJSU or CPP. Good luck
