Desperately seeking advice....

Hi, I am currently enetering my second year at a community college. I was hoping to graduate in a year and a half but cannot because 2 courses I am required to take are not offered in the fall. Basically, at the end of the fall semester I will fall short of recieving an assocciates in computer science by 7 credits (Biology 2 & Data Structures). However, I will still have completed 60 credit hours by that time. I am thinking of transferring out in January and major in Management Information Systems where ever I may go. Currently, I have a 3.61 gpa but know I will raise it to a 3.7 by the end of the fall semester. My plan is to take my data structures course online while I am away at college & to take biology2 the summer I get back. However, my highschool academics were not too good to say the least........ 2.8 gpa and 1070 sat scores (I went to a private school I dont know if that makes a difference). Basically, my question is do I have a legitimate chance at the following schools:

Fordham
Bentley
NYU
Cornell
Depaul
Carnegie Mellon

Also, please respond if you can think of any other colleges that may be of interest to me! thanks

great chance at:
fordham

not so good chance at:
nyu

reach at:
cmu, cornell

i don't know anything about bentley or depaul. don't worry too much about your HS stats. just concentrate on raising your gpa as high as possible and writing good essays.

thanks!.....anyone else...please?

where is your community college located and what is the name...also, have you been taking honors courses. Being a CC student myself, I know it's harder for a GPA to look good coming from a CC compared to the rest of the applicants, making NYU, CMU, and Cornell all reaches.

I go to Niagara County CC in buffalo ny. No, I am not taking any honors courses, I dont think my school even offers them. Also, I am a member of PTK (I dont know if that makes a difference)

PTK makes a difference. I know that on Cornell's application, they ask if you're a member so it must have some sort of significance. Besides Cornell and CMU, I'd say you have a great shot. Try not to let your high school stats drag you down since you'll have two years of college on your belt.

I would retake the SATs.

What do you guys think about Villanova? Do i have a chance?
