After reviewing our family calendar, I just can’t seem to come up with an option for attending a ‘Destination Tulane’ event. I was really hoping to go over the spring break in our school district. There is one day that will sort of work but airfare is crazy expensive and not terribly convenient for us to get there on time. Does anyone have experience with this event and would it be much more beneficial than a regular campus tour, etc. I know they do a lot of extra things for admitted students but is it worth jumping through hoops to make it work? Thanks.
@azmomof3 - I do not think that it is worth ‘jumping through hoops’ in order to attend a Destination Tulane. I am assuming you care most about a tour of Tulane’s campus, which you will get from a Regular visit (it is actually a longer tour than the Destination Tulane tour). You can find a tentative schedule of DT on the website, which might allow you to see if you are ‘missing anything’ that you think is very important. In my opinion, the main difference is that at a DT event, there are student panels. This is a great time to ask current Tulane students various questions. With that being said, you can always go on Tulane’s website and reach out to any of Tulane’s Tour Guides and ask them whatever questions y’all may have.
If you have already come down for a regular tour and want to see the campus again, I recommend a DT event (since the tour may be repetitive). If this will be your first time visiting Tulane, then a Regular Tour will be enough to make you want to come here
@TulaneBarry - thank you for the information. We have not had the opportunity to tour Tulane yet. I do think the panel discussions and just being around other admitted students to feel the ‘energy’ would be great. We could actually make it there about halfway through the session, which might be a good option. We could then return to campus the next day and finish up with a tour or whatever we missed.
@azmomof3 - I completely agree. Sounds like the best of both worlds! Enjoy your visit.
