Deterministic Universe?

Fae seems to be reading only names and not ideas. There are a whole bunch of new ideas in this thread. Just b'cos fae cant read fast enough or too fast or cant understand anything other than proper nouns doesnt mean this thread is useless. Whoever have joined in this discussion (whole heartedly) have gained quite a bit. If fae cant gain anything dont waste ur time commenting on this thread. U can use that time for more useful stuff. And Fae (our original thinker) bless us with your profound ideas which may dawn a new era on physics. Otherwise Shut up.

'"Who's ideas did I call garbage?" - oh noes!!! I meant fae, not you. I was just ****ed, so I saw your name on screen, and typed it, w/o thinking. Truly sorry bout that. Another reason why I won't get into MIT... :'-('

No worries man :)

i bet you dont talk like that in real life, do you shirish

"i bet you dont talk like that in real life, do you shirish"

At least he has a life. He has contributed interesting ideas. You on the other hand, have simply insulted people here, and it isn't very effective.

(dont take this the wrong way...)
for the record - he does. at times.

sakar are you trying to be funny or something

fae, i've seen some of your other posts.

you seem to have some sort of disorder. if it extends beyond CC and other online forums i think you should consult a psychiatrist

just my 2 cents

then again, i dont think you'd take lightly to somebody actually giving you 2 cents.....

Dont worry. Its quite true. At least when ppl spoil a discussion - a good one.

Thanx Sagar.
I also see fae cant spell right. That's deterministic anyway. Seeing fae's earlier posts we can determine fae's spelling skills.

nice english on the last sentence

i got an 800 in writing on the may sat by the way

too bad about the spelling skills

DAMN!! That's impressive man!

yes, i suppose we could accomodate spelling errors on a forum such as this one. maybe you do know english. although i personally think standardized test scores are a joke, since you seem to believe in them, how much did you get in the SAT II Physics (considering the thread we're on. i know they arent very closely related, but you need to know the basics before you criticize someone the way you do)? Hell, how much (or what) do you get in your physics classes?

(i did see your other posts. just want to make a point)

just a thought from my original post(the first one) on this thread. It occured to me that since there are a great many ways the universe was initially configured, and paths may intersect, then that may be why things seem random?

I have trouble thinking about this time warping things, cuz I start to confuse myself... which is bad...

Ok. How about this fae. We will start proofreading our posts for spelling errors, and you start proofreading your posts for insults and insinuations. Why does it matter that we are indian? If you have nothing positive to contribute to this thread, then why do you keep posting on it? This thread is suppose to be related to physics.

remember kids, don't feed the troll.

to substance: explain yourself a little more, sagar. paths of what?

lol.... what the hell is going on here? :p
i concur, goddess... dont feed the trolls.

I couldn't help it... :D

indians are critiscizing my english
brilliant

i know this a geeky thing to do

:D

seriously proofread your own posts first

Ditto.

goddess32585: From my original entry on my blog, I discussed how each initital configuration of the universe has its own path. That means that each intial configuration has its own function of t that describes the universe at any time t. This assumes a deterministic universe. I am wondering whether that since there is the possibility that different functions of t intersect, just like f(x) and g(x) and s(x) could all intersect on a graph, than the times of intersection might make things seem random or something. I am still thinking about it, because it usually takes me a day or two to workout in my head exactly what I am talking about.

Does anyone know if it has been proven that time does not exist?

If it doesn't exist, does a deterministic universe still exist?

Is time not something that humans created for reference?

Sorry, I'm not much help... just my curious questions.

Michael, you seem to be listening to Ismail at school. In the case of my argument, time is not something relative to humans. It is a continuous abolute measure of the number of iterations the universe has had so far. The measure of seconds, etc, is man made. It's like saying that the variable x doesn't exist, so we can't have f(x).

ok, that's what i sortof thought you meant but you said so little i wasn't sure i was reading you correctly. my answer to that would be that the universe may have many different possible initial conditions, but in this particular one it only had one initial state; other universes started out differently, but they're not here/this one, unless you're subscribing to the notion that our universe intersects other parallel universes at times, and the interactions manifest themselves here as random happenings. i tend more towards the "every possibility creates more universes exploring every possible outcome" scenario, myself, which sortof reverses your notion, i think.

take your time figuring this out, of course, and then correct me; i'm probably just spouting BS b/c i don't understand your idea yet.
